The vision of The Brick Group’s Corporate Social Responsibility plan resonates well with our customers, our employees and the industry that we are in – we help turn houses into homes.
The Brick is proud to partner with Habitat for Humanity and Breakfast for Learning. Our partnership with these national charities allows us to support the good work they do in the communities our stores serve across the country.
We want to do more than just financially support our charitable partners. We want to connect with our communities in meaningful ways that benefit us all.

From October 11 – November 3, 2011, The Brick invited the public to vote for the Canadian community where they would like to see us build our first Habitat for Humanity home by visiting our facebook page at www.facebook.com/thebrick. The community of Stratford, ON, population 32,000 was named the winner our first home.
Giving our employees the opportunity to volunteer on home builds through the Adopt a Day program, strengthens our growing partnership with Habitat for Humanity. In the communities where our spirited team of employees live and work, they contribute their time and skills to make a difference in a local family’s life.
With over 70 locations across the country, ReStores are building supply stores run by Habitat for Humanity affiliates that accept and resell quality new and used building materials, furniture, appliances and electronics. Shopping at a ReStore is a socially conscious decision, as funds generated are used to fund Habitat homebuilding projects. Shopping at a ReStore is also an environmentally conscious decision, as much of what is sold at ReStores is product that is new, gently used or customer returns that would otherwise end up in a landfill.
Working to ensure every child in Canada attends school well-nourished and ready to learn, Breakfast for Learning helps to educate and empower communities to start and sustain school-affiliated child nutrition programs through the provision of: grants, equipment, child nutrition resources, and access to a team of registered dieticians. In the 2010-2011 school year, Breakfast for Learning funded over 2,380 programs, helping to serve over 44 million healthy meals and snacks to over 259,330 children and youth.
From December 1st to December 25, 2011: For every purchase a customer made at www.thebrick.com 1% of sales were donated directly to Breakfast for Learning! During the months of March, April, September and October; our stores will conduct in store fundraising and awareness campaigns in partnership with Breakfast for Learning.
An important part of our partnership with Breakfast for Learning is our employees are given the opportunity to volunteer at breakfast programs and fundraising initiatives in the communities where our spirited teams of employees live and work. They contribute their time and skills to make a difference in the lives of children.
